Pedra
I just found out that I was denied the Grad Plus loan. I have a good credit score, but took out a loan with the city a couple of years ago that is considered a lien for a home improvement. So I'm appealing the denial and was wondering if anyone here has done the appeal process and how it turned out. I got a letter from the city explaining about the loan/lien and am sending it to the dept. of education. My hope is that this will be sufficient, but we'll see. I really don't want to take out a loan with a private bank, but am prepared to do this if needed. I'm starting school in less than a month so this is pretty stressful, but I'm crossing my fingers that it will all work out ok! I'd love to hear any suggestions that others might have. -Cheryl

cinntsp
I have a feeling that you'll have a harder time getting a private loan than you would a govt loan in this situation.
