Environmental Factors in CASPA

Hi - 

Under Personal Information on CASPA, there is a section with environmental factors. Since these are all optional, have people been filling them out? I'm just unsure if this could affect my application, even though all programs say they don't discriminate against, although I know some give preference to certain environmental factors (underserved communities etc)

If you're not any sort of minority, the chance of filling it out helping you is essentially zero, and while I doubt that there would be widespread discrimination against anyone, the chance of being negatively affected by not being a minority is real but also likely quite small, so if you think it's greater than the chance of it helping you, then a risk assessment would indicate no good reason to fill it out.  (shrug) Your call.

I filled it out only because I am from a town with a population of 330, rural, and underserved.

I did because at one point in time my parents used EBT.  Also, started contributing to monthly bills at the age of 13.  Low income family, immigrant, and 1st generation college graduate.
