Guest UVAPAC Posted December 7, 2016 Trying to find information about this online, does anyone know if PA's or APRN's are able to give an impairment rating or does this have to be determined by a physician? I believe the laws vary state to state, but difficult to find information regarding this online.
GetMeOuttaThisMess Posted December 7, 2016 Years ago in Tx(early 90's) a PA could do the impairment exam but it required signing off by a physician. Reference then was AMA Guide to Permanent Impairment, 3rd. Ed. (which wasn't even in print!).
Reality Check 2 Posted December 7, 2016 Washington state Labor and Industries doesn't allow anyone but MD to do impairment ratings. No reason, just NO. The docs who do ratings are difficult to find and inconsistent. I tried to get trained for 10 yrs. State won't allow it. Neither does Idaho, Oregon, Montana, Wyoming or North Dakota. Deep Sigh
