NYCPA5
Hey All, Watching a House M.D. marathon and just wondering if there are still people who specialize in diagnostic medicine such as House. I know its a TV show but they have to have a technical advisor so I'm sure there are diagnostitions around, but how frequent are they? Are there PA's in this field? Just wondering..... Kacs :)
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 25, 2010 Moderator Share Posted September 25, 2010 there is a group profiled on cnn this week that only sees pts with new and interesting diseases but this is just one group(and no pa).
Joelseff
I thought a Diagnostician is one who diagnoses (pretty much any clinician like MD, DO, PA, NP etc) not a "special" field in Medicine.
NewtonsApple
House specializes in two fields, infectious disease and nephrology. I saw bits and pieces of that CNN expose as well, without sound as I finally had some free time to go to the gym. Was the expose worth watching? my question would be if that group saw ONLY interesting cases or made time to investigate special situations. I was always curious how a hospital would afford a team like House or the crew CNN interviewed
