paperplane
Hello and congratulations for being accepted to Emory! I am very interested in becoming part of Emory's PA program and was curious as to how much work and volunteer experience you had. It would be helpful to know if/where you worked in between college and PA school. About how many hours of patient care experience did you have? Thanks so much! PArunner
I'm not sure if you've checked their website, but they have all of what each the classes have done... http://www.emorypa.org/health_care_experience.htm
vaston
My class averaged 5,000 - 6,000 hours of HCE. Some of my classmates have more than 10,000 hrs. Hope that helps.
med218
I really don't remember the exact #'s from when I applied, but on a rough estimate in my head (and this is just an estimate) I had: 3,000+ hours volunteer on a 911 ambulance probably between 8,000-9,000+ hours of paid experience (split between EMT-I for private ambulance service, CNA in ICU setting, and EMT-I for a hospital based critical care ground transport)
