dschelar Posted June 25, 2015 I'm in my last few months of PA school and saw a job for a surgical PA with a surgical hospitalist group. Just wondering if anyone has experience working for or interacting with surgical hospitalists as this is a new specialization to me. Thanks!
cinntsp Posted June 25, 2015 You're likely round on post-op patients, do pre-op exams, etc. So essentially you'll be working in surgery without going to the OR.
greenmood Posted July 1, 2015 This is what I do. It's post-operative inpatient care. The job is actually what the title suggests - hospitalist care for surgical patients. So I manage their chronic conditions which are usually stable and address their surgical recovery (specifics depend on what they've had done) which can be straightforward or train-wrecky.
