Amina
I think someone should call and inquire about this position. Perhaps I'm naive for thinking this, but could it be possible that they are lumping PAs and NPs into one group? I didn't see where they said a PA couldn't apply. It also states NP not DNP so, a PA should be able to apply, right? Again, please excuse me for my inexperience.
Guest Paula
Sounds like a government job the way it is advertised such as in an urban CHC. There may be a PA who has all the credentials and experience to apply for this job. But I don't think it was an oversight to not include PAs if it is a government related or grant funded type of position.

Moderator ventana Posted January 20, 2014 Author Moderator Share Posted January 20, 2014 Hyperbolic subject line much? I don't think so Why would they mention NP and MD and leave out PA? NP and MD are independent and we are dependent....
Administrator rev ronin Posted January 20, 2014 Administrator Share Posted January 20, 2014 Because nurses have a much longer track record than PAs in hospital administration? And because NP degrees aren't particularly clinical or hard, so most every late-career nurse has one of some sort or another?

This job posting brings several additional questions/concerns to my mind...
Will352ns
Third tier in the Admin/Management role....yes. PA's tend to stick to clinical practice, that is well documented. This is where the DNP comes in handy for the nurses. The DNP tailors NP's for this type of management role. DNPs will continue to get these types of positions because there aren't enough physicians who want these type of positions. Would you want to do quality and infection control or do real clinical work? I know my answer.
