kris_
I'm preparing for interviews in multiple states and am having trouble finding information comparing state laws concerning PAs. Does anyone know of a webpage (or a post on this forum) that outlines/summarizes up-to-date information on PA's scope of practice by state? kris_
I've seen the PDFs the AAPA has that are organized by state. I've reviewed those for all of the states I'm interviewing in. I guess more what I'm looking for is any website that compares laws and regulations by state or discusses states that limit PA practice?
Moderator EMEDPA Posted September 10, 2013 Moderator Share Posted September 10, 2013 you can intuit that from the stuff on the aapa charts. they don't do them side by side but here is some help to start. any state that restricts PA prescribing in any way is not a good practice environment. PAs should have dea 2-5 just like docs. any state that requires a doc on site all the time is restrictive. any state that requires 100% chart review is restrictive. for a look at some of the better pa laws look at NC, AK, WA, NY, MT, NE, VT, ME all these states allow a PA to solo staff an er with a doc available by phone only.
