Income is up, frustration still exists, and healthcare reform is making a definite impact on physician practices. In a 2013 survey conducted by Medscape, doctors revealed the number of hours worked, changes to their practice, and satisfaction with their compensation and the practice of medicine. Error in the summary. My heart stopped when I read the part stating that board certified physicians earned 100K LESS than non board certified. So, I looked at the originally medscape article. On page 7, of the link below, you will see that in fact, the summary has REVERSED the data.

Board certified physicians earn approximately $100k MORE than non board certified physicians.

Wow, if you had to do it all over again, 49% would not choose to be in Medicine, knew this would be high, but that's bad, almost half

I would imagine that a lot of careers reflect this. How often do you run into someone who loves their job and wouldn't do anything else in the world? Sure, they exist, but not in great numbers.
