devonf88
Hey there! I am hoping to apply to a number of schools across the country next spring (2014) but am curious if graduating from a more prestigious school really means more job offers. I have had my mind set on some of the programs that have been around since the 70s at some of the more well known and oft-pricier schools but am curious if others have really found this to help them get jobs. Any insight or experience that anyone has had would be really appreciated. Thanks so much!
Moderator EMEDPA Posted March 23, 2013 Moderator Share Posted March 23, 2013 the school name helps get your first job if it is either a big name(duke, gw, cornell, yale, stanford, etc) or if the person interviewing you went there. after job #1 it's all about your job performance. in general older schools have better rotation sites than newer programs so keep that in mind. many of the newer programs either don't have enough sites or have not yet weeded out the bad preceptors and sites that are not good for students.
