I have been working in general surgery for five years, and am considering taking the surgery specialty exam but have heard so many mixed comments I'm not sure what is best. Just wanted to clarify, thanks for your response! if your long term goal is to practice surgery and have a "credential" that says you passed a specialty exam the caq is much more impressive than then surgery panre exam. everyone is trained to pass the primary care exams in school. that is the test you should recert on. if you want to show aptitude for a specific field take and pass the CAQ in that field.
