Smoothest transition for a new grad into the PA field?

For someone fresh out of a PA program what are the veteran's opinions on what would be the smoothest job for a brand new PA? Family Practice?

DEFINITELY primary care....family medicine would be the easiest as that is what much of pa school and our cert exams focus on....

I agree. Family practice will give you expanded knowledge and broad based experience. Look for a practice that is combined with urgent care visits so you can learn that aspect of medicine, too

Is it hard to move from Primary Care to a specialty such as surgery?

I would think that it would only help your cause of trying to get into surgery with a few years of fam practice experience under your belt.
