Bachelors of Nursing before applying to PA school?

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have been lurking on SDN for quite sometime, as a Pre-Med student. I have been considering PA school.

I see that PA schools require 2 years of work.... So should I just get my Bachelors of Nursing, work for 2 years, and then apply to PA school? PA is ultimately my goal, and I would like clinical experience on the job before I apply to a PA program.

It would be a good start. You need 2000 hours of experience and you need your bachelors degree also. If no PA schools take you then you can apply to the masters program for nurse practitioner.

What is the GPA required to be a NP? If I end up with that decision?
