winterallsummer
1) Which is worse? 2) How did this affect your getting into PA school (either way)?
Administrator rev ronin Posted October 19, 2010 Administrator Share Posted October 19, 2010 1) It depends on a lot of things. What's the topic of the class? Is this a trend or an exception? How long before application? 2) I got in with a few C-F's and a couple of W's throughout a 20+ history of college courses, but I had a sensible explanation for why, a 3.4 overall with a 3.8 science GPA, and a virtually 4.0 trend in the last 4 years of prerequisites. winterallsummer
It will be my first C or drop. It is in Genetics.
winterallsummer
Also I want to apply this summer, but if I fail this I will probably have to wait til next year (it is a prereq for micro).
vaston
Question belongs in the Pre-PA section........
marilynpac
Need more info..such as what is your core science gpa thus far? If it's 4.0, no a C probably won't hurt. If it's 3.1, you could have to wait until next cycle anyway.
mdebord
If you drop it, and then make an A the next time you take it, they probably won't even blink.
marilynpac
You will be a much more competitive student with an A than a C....but there will be more competition too.
Doc Savage
I agree for Pre-PA... in case in never makes it there though... Do not take the C... are you sure you are going to make a "C". More importantly why are you getting a C? Schools lean on science heavily these days as a marker for someone who can "make the grade" in PA school. Some programs require a B or better in required pre-reqs. Genetics plays a big role in Medicine these days and in PA school.
