YourAveragePA Posted August 30, 2023 Share Posted August 30, 2023 Thinking of jumping ship from clinical/patient facing medicine to Big Pharma as an MSL. Anyone have any insight into the job? Salary range, job satisfaction, etc? I realize there are tons of companies out there and each is different, I just am curious about the job itself. From what it sounded like it was a good gig. Not certain about salary but I'd be surprised if it wasn't at least mid 100k...also,they put him through a fellowship/residency program and paid him while he was in the program. I thought about doing it also since I was in a specialized field... But... It's a little like being a Drug Rep with more liberties... I used to be a Drug Rep and hated it! Lasted 6 months... I'm guessing that was in the same specialty as whatever specialty the MSL work was in. Seems like they put a lot of effort in him. Is he still doing it? He's still with the company but no longer MSL he's a global director now... YourAveragePA Posted September 1, 2023 Author Share Posted September 1, 2023 That's kind of the driving factor. I'm with the VA now and upward mobility is virtually non-existent. Been a PA since 08 (patient facing), and have at least another 15-20 years to go, figured now my kids are older I'd rather climb the corporate ladder if I can.
