patient care hours vs shadow hours

Can someone tell me if I have a ton of patient care hours working as a medical assistant, do I still need shadow hours? Seems silly since I already work with PA's and physicians. Who would I shadow if I already am a paid employee?

It is silly, but many programs require it. Find out how many hours the programs you are interested require and get the hours. It is just another hoop to hop through, like the GRE.

Yes you should, I agree that it is kind of silly lol. I work closely with multiple PAs at my PCE job but still went and gained 90 shadowing hours with different PAs in different fields.
