PA Shadowing hours = MA ?

Recommended Posts

I am currently working in a Derm clinic as a medical assistant and actively assist a PA on a daily basis. I spend days/hours/weeks assisting them with patients... would this experience double as shadowing hours? I do not have any hours dedicated to shadowing a PA, but I do have ~60 hours shadowing a dentist

The shadowing requirement was created because people were getting into PA school and not knowing that a PA is not a highly paid medical assistant. When I applied to PA school in the early 90s it was expected that applicants had worked closely with PAs before and knew what the profession was. People had a lot more experience then with classes mostly filled with medics, RNs, and RTs.
