blpham
I am not sure if any of you are familiar with assist.org but it is basically a website that correlates transferable courses from two different institutions. I am trying to retake courses from a 4 year university at a community college but cannot find any upper division courses that would be transferable. Is this a problem? When I search the community college catalogues there are courses such as "intro to microbiology" and "intro to human physiology" and "molecular/cell biology" that would correlate with microbio, physiology, and molecular bio classes that i would like to retake from courses from my 4-year university. However, they do not show up on assist.org as transferable courses. I guess my question is, are these courses able to 'replace' or make up for the courses I did poorly in my 4-year university. P.S. I emailed several PA programs and a good amount claimed they show no preference towards 4-year or 2-year institutiions. Thank You
ToppDog
You would have to check with each school to see if they would accept the classes.
TThielen
That's because community colleges do not offer upper level courses. They are only a two year institution so all of the courses they offer are of the 100 and 200 level variety. Upper level means 300 and above which could only be taken at a 4 year institution. Hope that helps.
ParamedicToPa
I am taking Microbiology at a 2 year CC right now but it is only 2000 level. Most of the programs I have looked at dont specify that they want a 3000 level micro course. I will have to go back to Univ for Biochem and OChem II though. Lemon Bars
Also note that CASPA gpa's are calculated by including all courses. So if you got a C then took the class again and got an A, you would have a B average only.
