MMI interviews

Yale's Online program is doing an MMI interview format this year. Does anyone have any advice for preparing for this?

Hi Jenn! 

I highly recommend using the PA Platform's Interview Guide Book by Savanna Perry, as well as her online interview course.  I have used them in the past and she truly covers everything you need to know.  You can also sign up to do a mock interview through the PA platform.  The book and online course cover pretty much the same content, but I personally would suggest the interview course online over the book.  The course is a bit more in-depth, there is an online facebook group you can post questions in, and Savanna gives you mini assignments and worksheets to help you prepare! It was also helpful to do a mock interview before my first interview just as a form of practice to get my nerves out and understand what the actual interview might be like.  I also have a discount code you can use:

I’ve followed Savanna’s stuff for a while, and she’s awesome. I just bought the book, and now that you’ve recommended the course, I’ll take that too I think. 
 

Given the interview with Yale Online is online, how do you think this will change how the MMI will be carried out? For instance, just from what I understand about traditional MMI’s, you’re often given a prompt (involving e.g. an ethical dilemma) before you walk into a room, and then you address/act it out once you get into the room. 
 

Have you heard anything about Yale doing this?
