loquat
I was offered an EM per diem position with a well known hospital and asked for a non- refundable $500 application fee. This is not normal, Right? I am a new grad so inexperienced but this does not seem right to me. Thanks for the insight.
Arthropathy
The only time I've seen application fees was when applying for credentials, and that has always been payed for by the department. I would never pay to apply for a job, and if they asked me to pay for credentialing, I would ask them to pay for me, or at least reimburse me. ohiovolffemtp
Agreed - employer pays all credentialing fees - for the hospital. Not all employers pay for all the fees associated with the data gathering needed for credentialing: NCCPA verification, copies of transcripts/diplomas, immunization titres, verification of good standing from state medical boards, etc.
anewconvert
I have read of other people being asked this only to find out that it’s a miscommunication. Ask them to clarify this.
