keithle2
I am trying to decide what schools to apply to out of state, I am from Michigan. I wondered if this school accepts very many from out of state?
tuckeral
They only accept students from NC,SC,VA,TN,KY and GA with a preference given to NC students
marvi1kd
Is there any reason for NC schools having this policy???? I am not aware of any other states with this type of exclusion, it seems very selfish. Perhaps there is a reason for this that I'm not aware of. If someone could explain I would appreciate it! :)
MarciKiser
ECU is a public state university, so it has to accept a certain percentage of its student body (typically around 80%) from that state. Most PA schools are at private universities, so they don't have these quotas. Per their mission statement, ECU is also specifically interested in training PAs to work in underserved rural communities, so it draws from adjacent states (NC, SC, VA, TN, GA, but not KY as tuckeral indicates) with a high percentage of underserved rural communities.
