Prereq GPA

Recommended Posts

Do the majority of schools calculate your prereq GPA off of your best grade for each prereq? Or do they calculate each attempt at that class? For example I took A&P and got an F in the lab and a D in the lecture 10 years ago. I retook the class and got A's in both portions. Do I need to enter each attempt in for the prereq or just the best grades? Thanks!

I would say that this is very school specific. Some schools simply look at the sGPA from CASPA which includes every attempt at every science class that falls within the category while other schools calculate their own prerequisite GPA. Of those schools, I would imagine it is done either way depending on the school.

I know that my school puts the most weight on their calculated prerequisite GPA and use the highest score in each class.
