pastudentw Posted September 22, 2017 Share Posted September 22, 2017 I'm sure there are some programs that might accept pharm tech hours as patient care hours, but the vast majority of programs will not. A good rule of thumb is to think of direct hands on patient care as quite literally what that means, putting your hands on a patient and impacting their care. Jdabrowski Posted September 22, 2017 Share Posted September 22, 2017 So I have been a pharmacy tech for several years. Have about 10K hours of that. Last year I had 1 interview and was denied from the rest. I switched to being a medical scribe but I am more hands on with minor procedures since my MD knows I am trying to go to school, and that has improved my application to getting 4 interviews this year so far.
