PCE in a Pharmacy office?

Recommended Posts

I'm sure there are some programs that might accept pharm tech hours as patient care hours, but the vast majority of programs will not.

A good rule of thumb is to think of direct hands on patient care as quite literally what that means, putting your hands on a patient and impacting their care. I can't think of any positions within a pharmacy office that would include that type of involvement.

So I have been a pharmacy tech for several years. Have about 10K hours of that. Last year I had 1 interview and was denied from the rest. I switched to being a medical scribe but I am more hands on with minor procedures since my MD knows I am trying to go to school, and that has improved my application to getting 4 interviews this year so far.
