enpears Posted July 13, 2016 Hi there, quick question - I have the deadline set on one of my LORs for 7/14, and my professor writing the rec wanted to know if she had through the end of that day to write it. It's now been five weeks since she agreed and I am verified/ ready to be reviewed once she gets it done, so I don't want to move it again as I've done once already. Anyone have a clue if she's got the full day tomorrow to finish it? What happens if she doesn't submit by then?
MTOPAC Posted July 13, 2016 To my knowledge, nothing at all happens. It's just a deadline you create to inform the LOR writer of when you'd like it to be submitted. I had all of my LOR submitted passed the due date I entered onto the form.
enpears Posted July 13, 2016 Author Great, that's easy then. I'm not going to let her know that unless I have to haha but thank you!
Allegro Posted July 13, 2016 Yeah, its just a head's up to the evaluator about what your expectations are to have it finished, but the deadline date does not actually hold them to anything.
optimistic3 Posted July 14, 2016 Nothing happens. They can still submit after that deadline. I know this too well as I had a lot of trouble getting some of my letters in!
