Believe
cGPA is average, science gpa is below average imo, GRE is awesome as is volunteer work. Was any of your volunteer work hce? If not, then your 2000 hours is a little low for duke, emory, northwestern, not sure about other schools. There are plenty of other great schools out there, don't just apply because of the schools name, also, compare your stats to the schools profile. Like northwestern had a 3.7 GPA average last time I was thinking about applying there, it doesn't hurt to have "reach" schools but you have to be realistic as well. fflores98
I think you're a pretty solid applicant. sGPA and cGPA might be on the lower side for the schools you listed but your GRE scores should offset that.
MT2PA
You do have a lot of extracurriculars....but your GPA is on the lower end and you don't have a lot of actual HCE for some of the programs you're attempting (Yale, Duke, GWU, Emory....). If you think your extracurriculars make up for those things...go ahead and try. You may want to consider adding a few more schools where your GPA and HCE match matriculating students to be on the safe side. If it's a matter of good GPA/HCE vs extracurriculars, schools usually want to see better GPA/HCE. It's great to be involved and active, but at the end of the day PA school is academically challenging and they want students who can handle that as well as have patient experience. pahopeful_1
Even though your GPA is on the lower side, you are solid applicant because you have a good amount of HCE and extracurricular activities. However, the schools you have mentioned are really top notch PA programs and have a higher average GPA/HCE than what you have. Your actual direct patient care experience is 2000 hours (not sure if any of the 4000 hours qualifies as direct patient care experience), which is just average. In fact, for some schools like Emory, you are just meeting the minimum. You do have a shot this year, but you need to apply more broadly and have some safe schools.
