Administrator rev ronin Posted April 19, 2016 Administrator Share Posted April 19, 2016 Not bad. Tell them to kill the non compete: THEY'RE A FQHC! What do they expect you to do, take your patient panel with you? If loan repayment isn't enough handcuffs to keep you there, then there must be something REALLY wrong with the clinic. WeBuyAndSellJunk
This is better than my current situation with 3 years of experience in an FQHC. I will say, prepare to work. The level of acuity and complexity at times is daunting. The lack of support can be equally daunting. The red tape is ever present. I do enjoy the work though. I can relate to a lot of my patients due to my own upbringing and experiences. I also feel like I am working with a group of people who share my ideals/views. It has been a good job, but I cannot see myself persisting in this area. It is taxing on my person and burnout/compassion fatigue is rearing it's ugly head already. Good luck! WeBuyAndSellJunk
As a side note, I do wonder why they are saying they have malpractice coverage with a tail. To my knowledge, FQHCs fall under federal protection for any malpractice suit placed against them. You may want to clarify this.
