Ryan7
I have a doctorate in chiropractic and practiced for 3 years, however; I have been in surgical sales for the last 7 years. I miss the contact that I had with my patients and have been considering going back to school for a PA master's. The doctors that I work with recommend this field as well. I have worked predominately with neurosurgeons and ortho spine doctors in the hospital setting. My question is this, with your professional experience do you feel that this would be a smart move for me and would my experience make me more marketable? I do not want to return to chiropractic for multiple reasons but do believe that I could provide a benefit to patients with my background and experience. Thank you for any advice that you can give me.
Hemegroup
Your experience would certainly make you more marketable in an ortho or pain mgmt position. Other than that, get started on those pre-reqs and good luck to you.
Joelseff
We had 2 DCs in my class. I think they are both in ortho now. I have another classmate (not a DC though) and she works in Spine Surgery and LOVES IT!!! I think you should get the prereqs done and go for it! Ryan7
Thanks for the responses! I would really enjoy being in spine surgery and hopefully have the contacts that would make that opportunity a reality. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
