lzypanda
Hey Guys! Just wondering if there any PAs out there that sub-specialize in anal-rectal/colorectal disease/surgery. Thanks!

lzypanda
We just hired a semi-retired colorectal surgeon to come treat outpatient perianal dz who has just been an amazing teacher! Just curious what most PAs encounter and what procedures they perform outpatient besides hemorrhoids and burning off a couple of warts here and there ^.^ hehe
Moderator EMEDPA Posted November 5, 2011 Moderator Share Posted November 5, 2011 as mentioned above, the 3 colorectal pa's at the abovementioned clinic have been trained to perform routine screening colonoscopies
Contrarian
Careful E...!!! Remember a bunch of yrs ago when WE were on here encouraging new-grad PAs to learn as many billable procedures as possible... including GI PAs learning to perform Colonoscopies... Then the umm... GI PA "expert" on here claiming that the "liability" was too high and basically discouraging the PAs from doing them... Anywho... here is a place to "get started" (lots of additional and follow-up training needed) with many common billable procedures that our collegues perform daily.
