Dondoro88
I will be applying to a school using CASPA, and in the essay wanted to refer to my experience with their program - visiting the campus, meeting with faculty and sitting in on classes. Is this fair game for a personal statement or should be avoided?
Administrator rev ronin Posted September 13, 2011 Administrator Share Posted September 13, 2011 If you're only applying to one program, I think they can see that already, so you won't be telling the program anything they didn't already know. There are upsides and downsides: upside, they know if they pick you, you won't attend a different school. Downside, they know they can slot you in at the last minute, since nowhere else will pick you up. Downside #2, they may question your dedication to the profession if you "only" apply to one school... but again, I think they already know how many schools to which you've applied. Dondoro88
Well I am applying to 3 programs, but 2 of them aren't on CASPA. This is why I thought I could tailor the PS for the CASPA school.
Administrator rev ronin Posted September 13, 2011 Administrator Share Posted September 13, 2011 Ah. Well, then ignore what I said about the program knowing about how many programs to which you're applying. I don't see any particular downside in that case.
