Ms Chievious
Katiesherwood, they are still doing interviews. I just got an email invite yesterday. I think it's the last interview though. When I asked whether there would be any later ones, she said no. Jan. 9th, 8 am or 11:30 am time slots.
Ms Chievious
Can anyone describe what the interview was like? It's good to know they didn't have a writing portion, but how long (and grueling) was it? I'll need to decide whether I can take the red-eye back to Cali the same day (and avoid skipping work), or if I have to stay overnight. :P Thanks!! adjk1229
My time slot was 11:30 and it started right on time. We took a tour of the whole campus and we all sat and asked the director questions about the program as people interviewed... I was first to go out of about 20 girls, haha, and I was out of there by 1:30. Very easy questions and very easy to talk to. Good luck :)

maryanash
I got an interview for the dec 5th, very nervous!!! This will be my first interview and Hofstra is my first choice so i really don't want to screw it up. Does anyone have any good tips for the writing part or the interview itself??? adjk1229
There isn't a writing part. It's very laid back. Just be yourself is really all I can say. It's very true. Google a list of possible questions and make a list of bullet points of general ideas on how you would answer those questions. DO NOT REHEARSE! You'll sound it. You need to be able to have a general idea of how to answer and just be prepared for any variations on the questions and you'll feel much better because if they throw something at you that you didn't rehearse, you don't want to look like a deer in the headlights. Just relax, and you'll do fine, and bring your sense of humor, assuming you have one :)

L10n3ss
Hi - congrats to the acceptances and to the upcoming interviews! I'm going to the Jan 9 interview. Do I need to bring any documents with me? i.e. resumes, documentation of the shadowing hours, patient contact, etc?

kmwiniarczyk
I emailed Gia yesterday to let her know that I wouldn't be at my preferred address due to winter break and she emailed me back saying that a letter was already sent, but that she would send one home for me. So my guess is the letters are on their way!
XigniteX15
I'm also still waiting for Hofstra to give me a reply. I just finished up one last pre req at Hofstra for them so i'm hoping I can at least get an interview. Last I spoke to someone at the office they said that interviews could last past Jan. Not sure if the class if full yet though.

katethegreat
I just was offered an interview for the Mar 9th date. I have already been accepted to another program and I am wondering if it is worth it for me to fly cross country for this interview. . . beside reading over the website I don't know much about Hofstra's reputation, cost of living in the area, etc. Is anyone familiar with the program and have any advice or info. I am mostly concerned about their PANCE pass rates. . .
