  1. Of course! I will message you. Everyone at that medical center was extremely supportive. And thanks for the kind offers :)
  2. I had scheduled a Feb 24th interview back in late December, but I just canceled it. I submitted my CASPA ~August 30th, but things didn't get totally processed until early October. Good luck!

  4. Thank you, Bryan! I was not able to find a PA in CA, but I was able to find one in Austin while on vacation there, thanks to my brother's contacts. The website looks like a great resource, for anyone who's still in need!

  8. That sounds right, hannahcrogers. That's what Prof. Fasser said. Has anyone gotten their letter yet? I live in Cali, still waiting on that (so I'll know when I need to make the desposit!)

  10. I got the call too! My last name starts with a "C" so it came pretty early... like 7 pm Texas time? So excited too!! Congrats to all who got the call, too!

  12. I submitted everything the day of the deadline, Dec. 1. Really cut it close! The problems w/ mine were that 1) they needed verification that I passed out of Spanish, then 2) I had to get some PA shadowing in. They first called me Dec. 8 to ask about the Spanish thing, so I got my school to email them. Then they called again the next day to say I had to shadow PAs before getting the invitation. I managed to get that done by year's end, miraculously, and sent them the proof Jan 4. So I guess everything in my file got finalized ~Jan 4. I was hoping for the late January interview, but that must have filled up.
  13. Thanks for your info, johnwaite. I have a question -- how often do you see PA students receiving scholarships/grants/etc (vs. just loans)? And how much do they typically cover? I was hoping that some of USC's astronomical costs would be made up for in scholarship available to its students. Or is that mainly the case in undergrad, not so much for grad programs? Also, what is the class size? Do you ever feel like it's too large a program to enable good, personalized student-faculty interactions?
  14. What haj510 said :) They are all supportive. I don't think you get one w/ a student, but the faculty etc are very kind.
  15. I just got an email today -- Feb. 11th interview :) Glad to know there are still dates after mine!
  16. All the faculty were very supportive and helped put you at ease. It's a great environment. The format was -- small group activity (4 people at once), a writing portion (2 questions, relatively simple), and then individual interviews (2 one-on-one interviews w/ faculty/staff). For the interviews, it felt like they were just trying to have a conversation with you. Nothing scary, no trick questions, etc. The group activity was random, but they really just want to see how you interact with others, teamwork ability etc.
  17. Thanks for the tip, anagoldberg! I'm also in Group A, so maybe I'll meet you. :) Also, my student host told me that last year, their interview day consisted of 3 one-on-one interviews, maybe ~15 min each. Could be with faculty, alumni, etc. In case anyone was still wondering.
  18. Hm good point, vas113. I didn't think about that. I guess it would be weird to wear my full suit for both days. :P Maybe I'll ask my student host -- she seems nice.
  19. Group A here! Verbal - 680, Quant - 740, Writing - 4.5. Anyone know how the individual interviews will be formatted? Looking forward to meeting everyone! :)
  20. I thought someone in this thread had mentioned that they are, for a few more months...
  21. Hey Lioness! Sorry, I actually just canceled that interview. As it turns out, I got accepted to Pace -- that's my fav in NY. Best of luck on your interview!!

  22. I was told by USC that they would invite me for an interview -- IF and only if I am able to cram in some PA shadowing ASAP. Early January, I was thinking. This would be incredibly helpful and it'd mean a lot to me, as USC was the only school in my home state that I applied to. I've volunteered before (Santa Monica-UCLA hospital, as a CareExtender), but that was a while back in 2005-2007. Any help or leads would be so very appreciated. Thank you!!
