EMT Class-- when should I take it?

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys!

So I want to get my certification as an EMT. I am looking into classes that are also going to be going on during my fall semester at college. Has anyone ever done this? Is it doable to take part in the class while I am in school? Or is it better to wait until the summer time? If anyone has any advice, it would be helpful!

As long as it meshes with the rest of your schedule and life's obligations, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to take it in the fall. If you're used to pre-PA science courses, you shouldn't find EMT training very challenging academically.

You might need to be flexible when scheduling any clinical/ride-along time if your program offers it, but even those requirements are generally pretty minimal.
