asp
I'm a pre-pa student who has always been interested in working in pediatrics. I used to dream of being a pediatrician growing up but once I started researching and comparing med school and PA school, I realized PA school this is definitely the route I want to go down. But, whenever I research stuff about pediatric pa's I don't seem to find too much information about them. I see more stuff about surgical PA's and stuff like that. Is anyone else also interested in being a PA and working in pediatrics?
JohnnyM2
According to AAPA, about 2% of PAs work in general pediatrics. Compared to physicians, as a group, pediatrician incomes are fairly low so, as you might expect, pediatric PA salaries are low. MT2PA
There are absolutely opportunities in peds. Some programs have a dedicated peds clinical rotation or you can do an elective in peds. I think there are might even be a few programs that emphasize peds (Colorado had a peds track).
