smbaisley
Hi all, I will be graduating from PA school in two weeks. I've rotated all over nyc and long island. Previously lived in San Diego prior to school and plan on moving back in february. Any advice on the job market in San Diego for new grads? I have a strong interest in Emed, ortho or primary care. Thank you! https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=334370850&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile_pic

LESH
As EMED said the market in SD is a little tight, there is a good chance that in the next few years it will get tighter if proposed programs come on line and as newer programs establish clinical training sites in San Diego. Check out California Emergency Physicians (CEP) http://www.cepamerica.com/careers I did a quick search and saw one job listed: http://cepamerica.force.com/careers/ts2__JobDetails?jobId=a0OG000000FWok5MAD&tSource= You may find more if you do a more extensive search. Disclaimer: I signed on with this job search firm: https://www.linkedin.com/company/jobs2careers to see what was out there. They have been very good about consistently emailing me with opportunities with hospitals, clinics and private offices looking for PAs in all specialties. I haven’t looked into any of the opportunities because they haven’t sent me anything I was interested in at this time. You might check with the State Academy of PAs if you haven’t done so already, as well as the PA programs because many of them have job listings. Congrats on your accomplishments and good luck in your future PA endeavors. LesH

Corpsman2PA
A buddy of mine (new grad) had to accept a position about 1.5 hrs away (EM). Another buddy I know had a connection there where he used to work and will be working in FP. But as has been said, very tight market. I work up north and chose between 3 different offers.
