winterallsummer
Hello and thanks to all for the support through pre-PA and PA school. I am happy to say I am now licensed and accepted my first job with in an ED. Primary job is working FT in the obs unit, which has about 12 dx they accept with specific criteria, and I also will get some ED shifts down the line once I get my feet wet. I have CMDT, Tintinalli's, and a good pharmacology book, plus the protocols they gave us to practice by. Any advice? I also am going to try to find a prn in UC or FM if I don't end up getting ED shifts because I don't want to forget what I have learned since obs medicine may not be as good of an exercise in learning dx etc.
Moderator True Anomaly Posted September 25, 2014 Moderator Share Posted September 25, 2014 Congrats! I'd also recommend a good procedure book- the ER standard is Roberts and Hedges
Boatswain2PA
EM Rap for podcasts. My first year out I listened to every single one of them, and saved the ones I needed to listen to again (and again). Still listen to my faves as I'm driving.
