szczotka
Hi, I am looking for some advice on choosing elective rotations. We are only 3 months into our didactic year and our program is already asking us to let them know what we want to choose and I am clueless. I would like to work in family practice/primary care, but are not hard set on that. We need to do 3 electives: I am thinking endocrinology for one. A friend suggested ortho since it definitely comes in handy in primary care. I also have some interests in pulmonary or allergy. Any thoughts or advice? Thanks so much! Administrator rev ronin Posted September 20, 2014 Administrator Share Posted September 20, 2014 Derm, Ortho, and Women's Health, if you want to work in primary care. I work in family medicine and my cardiology elective rotation is almost entirely irrelevant because at my group practice complex cardiac patients are managed by internal medicine, not family medicine. hitzgrl123
I just started my first job as a PA and I'm on family medicine- I say DERM all the way. Pts are always having me check their various moles and warts. I wish I had done a derm rotation bc I feel very weak in that area.
