GetMeOuttaThisMess
Interesting read for those who are interested, on multiple fronts (Primary Care, ACA, NP freedom): http://www.nytimes.com/2014/03/03/us/new-laws-demands-on-doctors-have-many-seeking-a-network.html?hp
rcreek
At least "physician assistant" was mentioned once, but not in any meaningful way like NPs were. And surprise surprise... no mention of a PA lobby doing anything.
bobuddy
Actually in KY the PA lobby is doing something. Our current bill has passed the senate and the house - to reduce co-signatures down from 100% (within a reasonable amount of time - which was interpreted as "immediately" by hospitals - therefore they refused to take our orders unless co-signed) to 10% within 30 days. We are far far far behind the NP's here and are hurting. But it is a start. Last year the PA lobby got rid of the 18 month direct supervision upon graduation. We have new lobbyists and new KAPA leaders that are working hard. We have a long way to go to catch up to other states. Yes, NP's are independent here which hurts KY PA's even more.
