Realize also that for some rotations (VA, DOD, prisons), you may get a separate background investigation per rotation. I had one friend with a RIDICULOUSLY common name who couldn't get into a prison rotation because some similarly-named dude was on the no fly list.... Or did you mean the no-fly thing? That isn't unfair, just institutionalized stupidity that doesn't do a thing to protect anyone from anything. Most of our clinical sites will want to see one within the previous 12 months, so we tell students not to get one too early so it does not "expire."
