Moderator EMEDPA Posted August 20, 2013 Moderator Share Posted August 20, 2013 ability to obtain and interpret all vital signs basic knowledge of commonly used primary care medications first aid skills at least at the level of red cross adv. first aid with cpr basic handle on medical terminology ability to work with all types of patients from pediatric to geriatric, from homeless to prison population to over the top rich and self entitled, those that speak english and those that do not. those who use interpreters for foreign language or ASL..if you say "I can't deal with patients from xyz country/religion/socioeconomic background or those with abc diagnosis" you don't belong in medicine. humility to say " I don't know the answer to that" and willingness to find out. 10 years ago this list would have been a lot longer but this is the min I think we should accept at this point....
