Mandi Posted June 5, 2013 Share Posted June 5, 2013 Hi everyone, On the path to picking a career, I shadowed PA's as well as other health professionals such as MD's and PT's. Should I include these other shadowing experiences in my application/essay since they were all important in my final decision? Or should I stay away from mentioning them? greenmood Posted June 5, 2013 Share Posted June 5, 2013 I disagree. It could work really well in your essay as an explanation of key factors in your decision to become a PA. Especially if you don't have a lot of healthcare experience (shadowing does not count) or can't point to an "ah ha!" moment in your life that pushed you towards PA, shadowing other professionals is a mature, thoughtful, choice that you should put in your essay.
