JohnFerguson
Is it appropriate to claim Category 2 CME credit for reading JAAPA for instance? Say, 1.0 hours per issue? How about reading specific articles online/in print, for .25 credits, etc? What do you all claim as your Category 2 credit?
bradtPA
Precepting students usually is all the cat 2 I need. Reading journals is also appropriate for cat 2, one hour for each hour of reading....
woodsters
Category 2 isn't audited and is fairly flexible. I get the AAPA journals, Prescriber's letter and NEJM all of which have Cat 1 CME. These are fairly easy to do and since there is no minimum on cat 2 and no maximum on cat 1, I just keep logging category 1 even if I've reached my "50 hours". I also precept and host shadows which winds up being hundreds of hours.
