Where to put EMT training & how to list advanced bio courses?

Recommended Posts

Three quick CASPA questions-

1) Do I list EMT training only under "Health Related Training" or do I make an additional listing for it under "Institutions Attended"? If the latter do I have them send a transcript?

2) When it comes to courses such as A&P, microbiology, biochemistry, etc do I list these as "Other Sciences" or under "Biology/Zoology"?

3) If I repeated a course at a different school from where it was originally taken do I list it as "repeat" or "regular"?

If you recieved a letter grade at a regional or nationaly accredited institution then put it as both. You would send transcripts as well. If it doesn't meet that criteria then just put it under health related training.

2) When it comes to courses such as A&P, microbiology, biochemistry, etc do I list these as "Other Sciences" or under "Biology/Zoology"?

Look at the FAQ is you're unsure. Generally should be self explanatory (biochem listed under biochem / A&P under Bio/Zoo / Micro under Bio/Zoo.

3) If I repeated a course at a different school from where it was originally taken do I list it as "repeat" or "regular"?

Your put it as regular.

Per FAQs:

A: You cannot. Because CASPA is required to standardize grades across all colleges, we cannot accept individual schools’ “forgiveness policies” regarding repeated course grades. If you have retaken a course at the same school you may mark it as “Repeat” under “Course Type,” but both grades will still factor into your GPA. Please note that some PA programs will recalculate your GPA to include only your more recent grade, while others will retain the CASPA calculation depending on their individual policies.
