Gordon, PA-C
AHA supports downgrading of hospital services from direct to general supervisionIf anyone can find the while list, post it http://www.fiercehealthcare.com/story/aha-not-all-outpatient-services-need-doc-supervision/2012-10-24 I dont get it. The article says that the current regulations state that shots have to be given by MDs with "direct supervision" but that is obviously false. Pharmacists and nurses are already allowed to do that in all 50 states with zero direct supervision by MDs. Another claim is that toenail clipping has to be done with "direct supervision" by MDs which is also false. CNAs, RNs, LPNs, podiatrists and basically anybody else can already do that.
