TheDermPAC Posted July 6, 2023 Has anyone made the switch from clinical practice to PA education? What steps are required? How did you even begin to get started? Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! 1 Quote

Any advice would be helpful. Thanks! I haven't but a friend has. She began by reaching out to a nearby program and they offered her a course. She continued to work as a full-time clinician. Eventually, she saw a FTE opening at another program and she reached out to them. They hired her. She now works FTE as a PA educator. She also gets paid clinical days so she picks up PRN shifts. 1 Quote

PAMalignantHeme Posted August 1, 2023 Check out PAEA jobs portal. It is free listing of most available PA education roles. Some hospitals have PA educator positions for like residency programs or student coordination. The latter is not very common and from what I see either voluntary or part time. The way to do it ... is to actually do it. Apply for a junior faculty position and see if it is a good fit as you move through the process. Best way to prepare for the role and be a good candidate is to adjunct first. Also have some scholarship on your CV ... peer reviewed article, refereed talk, grand rounds at hospital, preceptor etc. 1 Quote
