ChrisPAinED
Just a interesting case. Going to keep it broad for privacy. Toddler comes in with a high fever. Temp 103 and pt had tachycardia present on triage. On exam had some swollen lymph nodes, had a rash on chest, and red tongue with white dots. History tells me fever for 6days usually around 101 but spiked higher. Nausea and vomiting present. High sed rate and CRP. Admitted for Intravenous Immune globulin and discharged 3days later. Echo was good on discharge and they have to follow up with pediatric cardiology in 6wks for another echo. No further updates. A good case that gone well... Was really happy to get the update that pt was discharged.
Mayamom
I had a few cases when I did peds many years ago. Can be frightening diagnosis at that time treatment was only supportive. Probably underdiagnosed. Kids are so resilient.
