Moderator EMEDPA Posted June 17, 2022 Moderator Share Posted June 17, 2022 Just a reminder, it is possible to do reductions without propofol or narcotics. This pt had a displaced distal radius fx that reduced very nicely with a hematoma block with 10 cc marcaine 0.5% plain and finger traps traction with 10 lbs for 10 minutes. A little tug at the end and it was in.
Randito
Nice! I've done similar for anterior shoulder dislocation with the gurney as high as it would go so the arm could hang downward, intraarticular lidocaine and as much weight as I could find, which was only like 20-25 pounds.

Yup, Stinson's maneuver. That is a great one when you don't have a lot of time. Set up the traction and walk away.
