for-profit schools

"Non-profit" is solely a tax status. Many organizations will be listed as non-profit, but they will be focused on generating a profit.

In medical education, "for-profit" schools are generally associated with those owned/created by private equity groups where there may be lower admission standards. If you're a pre-PA student, your main concern should be PANCE pass rates, total tuition costs and how well that program's grads obtain jobs with reasonable amount of time.
