MediMike
Practice changing for anyone here? Fantastically performed trial. Probably going to be changing my approach. Sitting down with a beer tonight to read the full article. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2100591?query=featured_home
polarbebe
Not practice changing at the MICU where I work as we do TTM to 36C. No neurological or mortality benefit for hypothermia 33C compared to 36C (see below article). So we cool to 36C (instead of 33C) which may reduce the risk of VAP and coagulopathy. They should have studied 36C x 24 hours compared to 37C. https://www.nejm.org/doi/10.1056/NEJMoa1310519?url_ver=Z39.88-2003&rfr_id=ori:rid:crossref.org&rfr_dat=cr_pub 0www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov
