Zach0212
Hi, I’m interested in attending physician assistant school and am trying to set myself up to be competitive both in entry as well as during school. Currently I have my EMT and used to work for county fire as an ocean rescue lifeguard. I also spent four years in the Coast guard. I have my bachelors in interdisciplinary studies and have completed some prerequisites during the degree, but still need about 7 more classes to even apply for most programs. My main question is whether I should just knock out the necessary courses that i still need, take paramedic to expand upon my medical experience and clinical hours, or work on another bachelors in biomedical sciences which would hit all my prerequisites and many additional classes that are not required before, like pharmacology, so that I could get some exposure before starting pa school. In anyone’s experience, what do they think the best course forward would be with one, or any combination of those options? Thanks!
Janie55
I would go the fastest and most economical route. You have a bachelors degree already, so I’d work on the prerequisites, get PCE, shadowing/volunteering in and apply. If you don’t get in, then do the extra classes, etc as desired.
