scrubmein
Maybe the general public’s lack of knowledge regarding the profession? People who dont know about the title see the word “assistant” and assume PAs arent cabable of provider level care.
MSPAC2
Hmm.. let's see. Here are three that come to mind and I recommend you research thoroughly: PAs losing jobs to NPs because they are independent and cost less to people doing the hiring. The title 'physician assistant' not reflecting exactly what we do. High-stakes re-certification
ohiovolffemtp
Also consider the COVID-19 related drop in healthcare utilization, leading to layoffs and drops in compensation for all who work in healthcare. The unique issue for PA's: practices and staffing companies will lay off PA's to protect physician jobs.

ohiovolffemtp
The PANRE, NCCPA's recertification exam, like PANCE is their initial certification exam. Many/most states and many/most employers require you to keep your NCCPA certification, which requires passing PANRE every 10 years. High stakes because if you fail you can't renew your license and lose your job, income, etc.
